Charlie had
his own world. He didn't appear at any parties. Instead he did chores.
"What are we going to do?" his mother asked one day. "There's
one thing left to do," his dad said, "the doctor." "The
counselor," was all the doctor said. So Charlie's parents drove him there.
The counselor was much more help. He gave Charlie a sock. "Mr Socky,"
he called it. Charlie loved Mr Socky. He took him everywhere. Even school. Mr
Socky was starting to stink. Even his best friend Paul didn't like it. He sent
Charlie a text message one day because he couldn't talk near him. P.U. it
said. Charlie was a loner. Everyone called him names like, "Freak!"
or "Wierdo!"
His parents were worried. They asked the counselor. The counselor was very
worried. He suggested he give him a new Mr Socky. They said no. "How
'bout this?" he said, "Me and Charlie need some time together."
Charlie's parents nodded. When the news reached Charlie he was thrilled. He
took Mr Socky with him. The counselor didn't mind at all. Instead he handed
Charlie a stuffed Cockatoo. Charlie thanked him lots. "Cokkie,"
said the counselor. Cokkie didn't stink at all. When Charlie arrived with him
Paul wasn't happy. "All those years of me sticking up for you and what do
you do?" he asked angrily. "Bring in a stinker." He glared at
him in anger. Charlie tried to explain Cokkie wouldn't stink. "Y'know,
your one greedy kid," Paul continued, "I can make lots of friends
other than you!" He pointed to Thomas. "Him." Soon Charlie stopped
going to his own world. He had lots of friends. And, you might be asking what
happened to Paul? Well, he sure learned his lesson.
